The guest house was established and lovingly built up by Pat and Rob, who remain the owners and are still closely involved, ensuring that the values and standards that have defined Amatola Guest House for decades continue today. While now retired from daily operations, their presence and experience are very much part of what makes a stay here special.
With a lifetime in hospitality and tourism, Pat and Rob bring deep roots and understanding of the area. Rob’s background in forestry and conservation, along with his involvement in the development of the Amatola Hiking Trail system, reflects the strong connection to the natural environment that surrounds the guest house. His knowledge of local history, landscapes, and points of interest continues to shape the recommendations and experiences offered to guests.
Pat’s long career in hospitality has created a guest house known for warmth, comfort, and attention to detail. Her influence is felt throughout — from the welcoming atmosphere to the thoughtful touches that make guests feel relaxed and well cared for.
Today, Amatola Guest House continues to offer comfortable accommodation, friendly service, and local insight, whether you’re visiting for business, leisure, or to explore the historic region. Robert Miles is the current manager of Amatola Guest House and is on site to assist guests with anything they may need during their stay. Friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive, he ensures that everything runs smoothly and that guests feel welcome, comfortable, and well cared for from arrival to departure.
